well if u remember a company called virtual techonoliges....Well they use to make boxes but have went out of business. But they had big box tunes to around 45 hz. The resale value on those boxes are very high. ppl who listen to them mostly listen to rap.

oh and when i say big i mean like 3 cuft @ 45hz for 1 12.

nothing really, the slots are harder to figure out i think.

why sealed in a hatchback or SUV? Did you know that hatchbacks and suvs tend to carry bass the best and tend to be the best way to go when looking for spl?

Because he didn't say he wanted to go deaf. To me ported isn't necessary in a hatchback or suv. That's only necessary when your trying to overcome the loss of bass due to a trunk, IMO.

Damm near any type of enclosure will be loud in an SUV. I'm looking at it from a musical standpoint, Sealed would probably give a flatter response and still be plenty loud.

SQ is subjective.

Bandpass does not ****. But you simply cannot throw any sub in any bandpass enclsoure. They are extremely driver dependant, and very difficult to calculate and build. I can guarantee that every single person that posted in this thread (except maybe jmac) has never heard a true, well made bandpass box, because I can promise you that your opinion would change very quickly.

i've heard one bandpass that was calc'd and built around a couple of fosgate 10's two years ago. Wasnt as bad as store bought by any means... but seemed to have a limited response range. very peaky.

no home made, and yeah bandpass boxes do tend to be peaky at in certain ranges.

Well there are many different types of bandpass boxes, my only experience is with a 4th order, and I was very impressed. I wasn't really trying to offend anyone with actual experience, simply saying that people can not judge a bandpass by listening to a POS at best buy.
