I ran them sealed and they sounded, let's say, alright at best. Might as well port them to have the loudness compensate for the sound not being the greatest.

from all the threads ive read on the type R it seems like ported is the way to go..

Agreed. all of the people I know did not like them sealed.

ya i had my type R ported to 32hz n i will never go sealed again.
