the mtx is the rfl15, it comes w/ a rebuild kit and weighs 56pds!

a shop here close by said they pluged it into a 240 volt outlet for half a hour and then threw into their car and pounded it for the next hour! but that's the only good thing i've heard about them.

the w7's look mean and at $700 round here they are fairly inexpensive compared to the rfl and the stroker($1000 and $1500 respectively).

i think adire's brahma (2"+xmax ) looks like it's going to pound!

yuh but rfl's sound like poop lol people say the w7's sound good........i have heard 2 sets and to me.....mud...not sure if boxxes were "spec" but lets face facts...they aint built, or designed to sound the best

56 pounds aint crap any more dd has had that weight beat for awhile and dare i say ppi has been up there too. besides that if they decided to make a ultra focused motor structure i would bet you a 15 lb woofer would out perform a 56 standard motored sub.....

not sure on wut the article was about but, i remember reading something about different types of magnets that are used. SOme yeilding more power with a smaller size. Wuts that all about?

stronger the magnet.........the better...acts like a larger one and if it is a "focused" magnet it means it just works where needed more effectivly.

Rockford is the best. Hands down, end of discussion!!

Thats not an opinion, thats a fact.

lmao for spl or sq? and if you say either why does 1 dd do over 170? and in sq why do most of the guys usin rockford subs turn them off in sq judging? ..hmmmm

Prove it......

------------------------------------

Magnet size is the biggest MOOT POINT when it comes to comparing speakers. So long as there is adequette magnetism to produce a sufficient feild arroud the VC.

A larger magnet will under no circumstances provide any advantage over a woofer with a smaller magnet.

Things like Back /Top Plate design, voice coil windings, spider assembly, pole piece, etc; determine the capabilities of a speaker. Or do Neville Thiele and Richard Small have it wrong somewhere?

take it easy,

This dude is full of crap!!! It is unfair to say that it is a fact that Rockford is the best. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but when people say that it is a fact that one sub is the best then that is pure and total BS

The sux because they are cheply made with paper and they have shitty voice coils. if you want more reply to me and i will continue with a page of why they sux

there is nothing wrong with paper cones at all if the speaker is designed right......kevlar is bullet proof yanno....shoot your poly cone and see what happens

i will take anyone on for the amount of money i spent on my system. it may not be the cleanest hitting system out there but it will out bass anyone who wants to go next to me. that isn't running some 600+ a sub **** which yeah if i had thousands and thousands to spend i would use that **** too. but hey if anyone wants to roll next to me with something that they think is good bring it. i love my rockford just switched to 4 HX2 12"s all running on their own 1000 watt amp and i will out bass anyone you want me to so try that.

I think rockford is good company. I also like jl audio, ID, and whole lot other and far as

rockford is the best subs. NOT TRUE hehe. If i could affort them i would like some

ecilpses TI subs. I think those are nice. It depends on what you are looking for. What type of sound you are trying to get from you system. IMO .....remember that everybody has there own hehe. Its not the end of the world cause someone says RF *****.

Thanks ya. Just pulled the trigger on the 1500BDCP because of the constant power that RF developed to help with the ohm rise.

I would pull it and bench test it with a 12v battery. Ive had Bulbs burn out in the past and the amplifier works excellent. They will burn out at...
