Required Electrical for an AQ200d @ .5 ohms.

id go with another g31 in the back, but after rise, the amp wont be seeing .5.... i plan on running mine at .5 after subs get broken in.
This is supposed to be a daily setup.. the amp might be seeing loads as low as .35 ohm at some frequencies when he first starts the system up depending on the subs.. Any 1ohm stable amp can handle .5 if you set the gains right, but there are several reasons why its usually not desirable in a daily setup..

Alright.. Well what do you think about electrical for two strapped @ 2 ohm. (so 1 ohm each)
I suppose that depends on how hard you are pushing them.. by the sounds of thing you have a pair of D2 subs and want to give them about 1kw each.. personally I might lean towards a 2ohm stable monoblock like a crossfire VR2000D or something along those lines..

Don't listen to those guys at all. That amp will do 0.5 daily all day long. Especially with good electrical like you are describing (good under hood battery, H/O alt, and planning to add another battery). I have personal experience running one at 0.5 with not an single problem. Hell, I am running my Maxxsonics made MB Quart amps at 0.5 ohm without a single problem.

Well what I want to do is buy one AQ2200 and run my current sub @ 1 ohm, but this summer I plan to do two Fi BTL N2's so I'd like the extra power @ .5 ohm and then run them @ 2 ohm with strapped amps daily soon after. Then with that set up I can drop to .5 ohm for a burp at competition.

These are the answer I like to read //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I don't know how big of a battery I'm going to put in the back though. I'm also trying to save a little space so I was thinking maybe a smaller 20ah stinger or something along those lines.

If it has a clipping indicator you will find out quickly that running it at .5 doesn't get you the output for daily that 1 ohm does. For burps it will counteract impedence rise a little and help a lot. For daily, you don't just rise, you have impedence drop too. That happens at more frequencies than impedence rise does, so the risk of damaging your subs or amps is GREATLY increased. loudrc acts like he knows what he's talking about, but from what I've read he's just an idiot that thinks he knows, but doesn't really have a clue. Yeah rc... you're a douche and I said so... be mad.

I'd say a 180A alt and a couple good batts would be the minimum you would want for that setup...

You think running an amp at 0.5 ohm will harm it LOLZZZZZ
