Recommend a me a line driver (already searched)

After extensive searching, i've decided to go with the alpine 9853 (yes I know the problems associated with these HU's) and adding a line driver. I feel this is best for me in the sense that I may be able to eliminate some, if not all my system whine, all while being able to boost my pre-out signal. My amp also accomodates signal up to 14 volts, so it should help keep my gains down. I also do understand that I could make my system even more vulnerable to noise due to the fact that i'm adding another component to the chain. With that being said,

Recommend me a cheap/quality standalone line driver that will best suit my needs. I've seen the (Audiocontrol MATRIX, and I here PG makes a nice one also.)

I don't need anything over the top either, just something that will suit my needs.

Thanks in advance,

I honestly think you are wasting your money on a line driver. If you have a whine in your system, a line driver isn't going to fix that.

And, are you sure 14V is the input signal voltage and not the power input voltage?

Yes, well actually I think it's 13v. The manual states something along the lines of

input sensitivity (1.5-13-14v)

A higher line voltage will lower the noise floor so that way you don't hear hiss from having your gains up. However it will NOT get rid of whine. Your whine is a totally different problem that higher line voltage will NOT fix.

To be totally honest, buying a deck with low line voltage and getting a line driver is a waste of money. There are quite a few decks that put out nice line voltage and probably cost less and are much nicer decks than the Alpine you're thinking of.

Just something to think about.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
