recomend a sub that can take 300 Watts @ 4 ohm

I have a Crossfire CFA 302 sub that can do 300 Watts @ 4 ohm bridged. I'm currently using that amp to power my front speakers (75W x2 @ 4 ohm). I'm upgrading the front speakers and planning to get a new amp for it as well.

The Crossfire will probably be moved into my dad's car to power a sub in a sealed box. So far, the only sub I can find that's rated at 300 Watts is a JL Audio 12W3v3-4. Is there anything like a W3 that's cheaper? Alot of subs I'm looking at takes a lot more power, or are dual 4 ohms, making the sub/amp not match.

Eclipse Platinum is a nice 12" sub, single 4ohm rated. I believe the RMS rating is 400w @4ohms.

I bought mine for $100, and I couldn't be happier with it. I used to have an Alpine SWS 1222 dual 2 ohm 12" sub, and after about a year, one of the coils went out.....I'll stick to Eclipse from now on for a moderately priced sub.

Log onto Crutchfield and grab yourself a pair of Kicker CompVR subs.

A pair of 10's would run you $130/shipped or a pair of 12s would run you $150/shipped.

If you're only going to use one of them then buy the Dual 2 Ohm versions so that you can wire the individual sub to a nominal 4 Ohm load ~ and you'll have a spare "just in case"!

If that's an option that sounds good to you then ask around the board and most likely you'll be able to find someone to give you a referral code to get an additional $20 off of the above prices.
