RE8 build opinions

I want to change things up in my bass portion of my system. I have run a 12'' SSD which blew and then a 12'' Q which also blew. They blew due to abuse. Both were in a sealed 1.13 cubes enclosure.

I want to do something different (different then what you see typically from people local). I want to run 4 RE8s. I have been doing a lot of reading on this and people really seam to be impressed by these woofers.

My question is will these 4 8s be able to get close to the lows that the 12s ive run previously in a sealed enclosure because of the cone area? I want to build a small stealth box because I have a ext cab S10 and want to keep some storage room behind the seats.

Or should I build a ported enclosure tuned somewhat low? If so what would people recomend for tuning?

I will be throwing approx 800-1000w at them depending on tuning.

I heard 2 RE 8's last week at a local audio store in a spec box & those things rocked & got pretty low in a slotted/ported box! I'm thinking of doing the same thing due to lack of space.

Checkout RE's site, they give you a good spec idea of what to do...
