You guys hear they discontinued the XXX and the MX, The factory for the baskets in china went bye bye in the earthquake, and they decided not to spend the money re-tooling the baskets for another factory or something to that effect. As far as I understand they are going to sell the stock of 12's that they have(the only size they have left) and then no more.

but on the real yeah there customer service sucks had to call the tech line and get one them to send me a recone kit via cod for my sub stupid hoe who picks up the phone for them says we dont deal with the public anymore so i called the tech line til i got someone to send for me since local ship wanted 270 or something for a recone kit for an mt without install since they dont even know how to recone a sub

For the record, sounds like total bullshit to me. Those baskets, and those drivers, are all that really set "RE" apart from their competitors. That would be a major portion of the parent company's intellectual property that they would let go bye-bye over a re-tooling problem.

Yes I realize how expensive tooling is. But still.

Well, I had a customer that wanted 2 XXX 15's, I was getting RE from distributor, but they didn't carry anything above the SX, so I had to get set up direct with them. Got all the paper work done, got the money to order the subs, called 'em up and they said they didn't have any and didn't know because of the factory problem, said MAYBE December. My customer was willing to wait. But then yesterday I get a call from him, saying he talked to RE again, and they told him they were discontinued. So I called and talk to the rep I was dealing with. He told me the same thing. I would imagine, thats not to say they have something else on the shelf design wise, that they might drop the money on to put into production, but thats just the info I received from RE directly. Now if they lied to me (and there is a possibility) but I don't see why they would seeing as I was going to have to spend money getting inventory from them. So there ya go.

Umm...... Hmmmmm...... The reason that the XXX, MX, and MT are on back order is because RE moved from Nevada to California.... The build house in China is located on the East coast by the water, the earthquake was in the westeren part of the country. They hardly even felt the quake, much less stoped the production. Now, I was told that they are going to stop production on the SX and all the subwoofer except the MT and the XXX will be made in China !! Gotta love "Engineered in the U.S.A." !!
