RAAMmat honest opinions and experiences.

RAAMmat is not a bad product is it the best no.

I have used some 300sqft of the stuff without issue.

In its price range it is hard to beat.

Never had any issues laying it down and it has great adhesion.

Most people can live with it not being perfectly flat and having some wrinkles. It is behind or under things in the vehicle not like people are driving around showing off their deadener.IMO

The draw back to it is the foil layer.

Is it an effective deadening product yes.

Do you have to use more sometimes to get the same effect as SS Pro yes.

If you have the extra money I like the Cascade and SS products better. If you are on a budget or plan on laying down 300-500 sqft I prefer RAAMmat.

RAAMmat is great stuff. It does get a little messy but for the price, it CANNOT be beat. You will have PLENTY to use from one roll.

Why would you ever plan on laying down that much material?

Why would you ever base your approach on a specific sq footage rather than a certain goal? A goal like killing vibrations?!?

If you are on a budget, sq footage should be the last thing you are concerned with!

If you could get the same results from 500 sq feet of Raammat that you could with 200 sq feet of somthing else, why go with the Raammat?

because people love to spend the same amount of money and do more work for it? lol

lol
i have raamat in my car right now. it was very easy to install than damp pro but it took me about 2-3 layers to equal one layer of damp pro.

i personally am going to go with damp pro for the rest of my car once im done laying down a roll of raamat on my floorboard.
Yup.

Rammat is good for the money but not great.

Damplifier Pro will be more firm, and will require more pressure to mold around contours, but that is only because the foil is 3 times as thick as the foil on the Rammat.

6 mils compared to 2 mils.

Since the foil is what does the majority of the work, it is no wonder why it performs so much better.

That, and twice as much adhesive by weight.

I like RAAMat for using in tight corners and places with a lot of bends or where it's basically not flat. It is a lot more flexible than Secondskin but it is messy, that's the downside. I used Secondskin, Dynamat Xtreme, and RAAMat in my install and they all worked well. Secondskin and Dynamat Xtreme are more user friendly however but I doubt you could hear a difference in performance between any of them. RAAMat was great for the inside of the doors, for trunk and floor I'd go with Secondskin or Dynamat Xtreme.

For the front of my car im going to go with damplifier pro since I can only have 2 layers up front (for comps), but the back has like 6 layers of raamat all around because I bought it off a friend for the cheapz, so far so good with it though...it was easy to work with but like has been said, I had to really layer it up almost everywhere to get good deadening.

So the areas that are non-resonant and benefit little from vibration damping. Fantastic.

The most difficult thing in the world of sound deadening is to break the mindset of the consumer. I love when members on forums post pictures of their deadening jobs and sometimes only get love when they've turned every last mm of surface into something Reynolds Wrap could use in a TV spot. I can think of at least two build logs on this forum where someone has done this...to the tune of 3-4 layers of CLD mat! Pics go up and then it's reply after reply of "OMG amazing work!!" Monkey see-monkey do; another "deadener" company goes cha-ching $$$, cha-ching $$$ all over you.

Imagine what can REALLY be achieved with vehicle noise control if people actually put their $$$ where it matters.
