Whats is the advantage of a 2 channel amp to a mono?

Could i run a 15'' 2000watt alpine sub threw a low wattage amp?

Iz the pre amp connection on the back of a head unit make that much of a difference??

wattage?? lol thatz a funny word:laugh:

You can run highs off of a 2 channel amp. A mono you can't

First learn some english ok. Second, you are not giving us enough information to give you straight answers. A 2 channel has advantages and disadvantages depending on how you plan to use it. Underpowering your speaker will not harm it if you aren't clipping your amp, but you won't be using it to it's full potential. And the pre-amp connection make what difference over what?

that is incorrect, you would just need 2 monos with on/of lpf, a few compaines have made dual mono amps for mids and highs, genesis mb quart etc

and to the original poster alpine does not make a "2000w" sub, you have a 15" type r correct?

Thankyou Leonard Washington.

I'll check my grammer right away sir! lol

I'm a begginer at this stuff so if you could stop using stereo lingo cheif.

What can you do with a 2 channel amp for?

I was going off of what I saw. I have never saw a mono amp that could run highs. And if you need two mono amps to do so, that's not practical.

this thread officially has some of the worst speech i have ever seen. basically depending on your coil configuration on your subs, it can be beneficial for a budget (sometimes) to use a sufficient two-channel amplifier. such as using two dual 4 subs, and you dont have a 1 ohm stable mono amp, it can be beneficial to use a powerful enough 2 channel that can be used at 2 ohms per channel. there can be many other reasons for vise versa, but that is one example. if you have a single sub that is dual 4 ohm, there are many amps to fit that in the mono category at not too expensive a price tag. if its a dual 2, you can operate it at 1 ohm, or 4 ohms. in that case, you can bridge just about every 2 channel amp at 4 ohms for an efficient use (once again, if power is sufficient, i dont recommend it if it doesnt supply enough wattage). many mono amps do not put out near as much power at 4 ohms as they do as the load impedance decreases. some do put out their most power at 4 ohms, but not many.

very true it is very impractical but those who run it say it sounds aweesome, alot to explain and dont want to thread jack but yea your still right it is impossible for a noob to do so

Wow man yeah i come on this forum to get some of my questions answered and you criticise me because i have a personallity. You bot sounding "professionals" just need to relax. I still havent gotten any of my questions answered you'd ratherer talk car stereo lingo that a newb like me yes does'nt know. EXPLAIN what you say in stop being an ******* bigot!

This guy comes looking for answers, but isnt willing to learn anything. He yells at us because he can't understand anything. And there is no such thing as a 1 ohm amp, maybe a 1 ohm stable amp.
