Questions about the setup I'm getting installed this week and some other questions.

Hey all, first and foremost thanks for the help anyone here can give me.

Let me start off by saying on Thursday morning I'm having two JL 12w6v3's in a custom, professionally built enclosure and a 1200/1v3 amp put in my Civic.

I've heard only good things about them, but haven't actually HEARD them. Anyone here with experience giving them the full load of the 1200 wired down @ 1.5 ohms??

Now for my next question:

Before I chose to go with these, I ordered two kicker compR 12's (the newer line) and a hifonics brutus 1100.1d amp....

Should I just return the kickers or should I throw them in with the JL's for shits and giggles??

Debating on both sides, just wanting to know if it'll sound even REMOTELY good to put the two together.

Dont even bother with the kickers. Those JL' s will put them to shame

What's a shame is he's having some shop put all that gear in the car for him. Pricetag is gonna be in the sky somewhere...

Without the shame of shops installing systems for people there would be no real industry. The industry needs shops and installers. I'm glad some people still use shops. I still will pay a shop to do things for me. But, I like to support the industry and the local guys running a shop. Good people making a living doing what they love. If someone is more comfortable having it installed and having a legit warranty... I see no issue with that. Let them spen their money how they see fit.

Actually, being military, I got it for quite cheap. I basically only am paying for the subs, amp, and custom built box....

Just run the JL equipment. Sell the rest and invest in good front speakers and an amp for them (if you haven't already)
