Q's for atheists and maybe hardcore agnostics

that's called Free Will
I am able to distinguish between having the ability to choose not to believe and the right not to believe. I don't think it is appropriate to say you have been given the "right" not to believe if the penalty for not believing is to burn in hell.

That would be like saying that in the U.S. everyone has the "right" to sell cocaine.

I don't think most of the posters are atheists. I am not. I don't have a strong belief in the lack of a god. I am agnostic because I am uncertain.

I sometimes feel that I get more than I give...or that I am a better spot than I should be. I am not sure if that is blessed, luck, or my own preparedness to take advantage of opportunities. That makes me lean towards religion...but it is only as a mechanism to account for what I don't understand.

if you believe the penalty for not believing is going to hell; then you are admitting that there is a God and choose to deny him as your Lord and Savior.

it is a right of free will to choose; he does not make that decision for you; BUT if you choose him as your Lord and Savior you will be granted in to His Kingdom.

you do have the "right" to sell cocaine; and you also have the right to go to jail for "choosing to participate in an illegal activity." No one MADE you sell cocaine, it was YOUR choosing - you would have chosen to do something illegal knowing the punishment for that decision.

The biggest misunderstanding about God that's propagated by religion is that He is judgmental. This is a logical fallacy and a trap for those that simply do not possess lateral thinking skills.

God IS the mathematical equiv of 0. Everything multiplied or divided by 0 is 0.

God IS NOT biased toward anything or anyone. You are not special, get over it.

God doesn't care. Caring is judgment. He is, in fact, careless.

God is no thing and everything at the same time. (observe the way no thing is written). Everything comes from nothing, which quantum theory supports.

All monotheistic (one God) religions embrace the concept of Omni. Omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing), omnipresent (all encompassing). It is the "my God is better than your God" that gives religion a bad wrap.

If you have the ability to say "I Am" you're speaking as though you are God. You can create and you can destroy...at free will.

What does the equation E=MC^2 have to say about God????

There are a lot of clues to God logic in Plank's Theory of Relativity, actually. Study the most brilliant minds that have figured this stuff out for us and you'll understand a-theo-ist and a-gnostic philosophy.

Have any particular books of study here? I study quantum mechanics on the side (so to speak...I try to avoid literature that delves too heavily in the mathematics). None of the books I have read mention the part God plays one way or the other. However, it I have read other resources that Einstein himself had trouble reconciling relativity and God.
