punctured hole in sub

i punctured a hole in the ring flexable material of the sub, it was a piece of shit rockford punch stage one that i put in for a friend and he went crazy cuz i punctured it so now its either fixin it or buying him a new one, mind you he got ripped off going 2 bestbuy and spent 100$ a piece for these things... its not rubber its liek the foam material, what can i use to seal it up?

If he wants another crappy sub, he can have my MTX Thunder 3000 12" for $35 shipped. It looks kinda used, but it still makes low notes.

Try silicone, it has more flex that superglue.

ive used clear silicone on a rubber surround. worked great and should work just as well on foam. if the hole isnt too bad you can just put the caulk on the underside of the surround and you wont really be able to notice that there is a tear.

I have head speakers repaired by a speaker repair guy, he re-foamed tem becase the foam around them was deteriorated, these were some **** old speakers but still sound great. Cost was $20 per speaker.

ok well as of the moment im thinkin silicon, is it easy to put on, like glue? just dab it inbetween where the slit is and im set?

When I did that to one of my subs I put from the backside for it would not be noticed so easily. Just put it on and kind of spread it out to where it looks perfect from the front and let it set.

Automotive Goop, the clear kind works great for small tears in speakers.

Its flexible like silicone but has much stronger bonding. You can pick a tube up at any auto parts store for around 5 bucks.
