i have a sony xvmr70 video package and it comes with the connection box that has a 7.5 volt max dc output it was designed to run the ps1, the ps2 runs at 8.5 volts will the one volt make a difference or should i get a power inverter

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC. Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
