~Project Avalanche~ Series 6th Order Bandpass Rebuild.

learned something new today...... the camera i bought SUCKS at taking videos. I'll post one up so you can get a rough idea, but it doesnt pick up shit. I'll go snag my old roomies camcorder sometime this week and get some good ones.

Gotta play with it a little bit this morning, it definately doesnt destroy the lows like my last setup did, but the mid 30's is violent.

I'm being somewhat conservative on the gains at the moment as well until i can get a feel for the level 3's. However, with about 800rms a piece (rated at 600), they can take a straight 35hz tone for 4 minutes and barely get warm.

uploading now.

Oh, and i still have lots of little things cosmetically i have to do, so everything isnt fully cleaned up yet

I have to:

-Wrap the 1/0 in looming in some places under the truck

-Fill in the screw holes and paint over them on the beauty panel

-get some nice screws for mounting the amps

-remove the 39438938493 pounds of dust and sawdust out of my truck

I will be repainting my interior pieces in a couple of weeks as well. I'll make sure to post that up.

Looks awesome. I could really use your help sometime in designing a new box in my blowthrough. I've been wanting to try something like yours but with 4 12s.

I did. it says hybrid6ht order. 6th order characteristics, blah blah blah. I see nothing about your enclosure that would give "characteristics of a 6th order BP. Looks like a ported enclosure to me.
Okay, let me try to explain it better.

1st box was a ported box, designed as a ported box. It peaked in my vehicle at 29hz.

So, for kicks, we modeled that box as a 6th order (took in account the front chamber), and with the acoustics of my vehicle included, the math showed i would peak at 29hz, which it did.

SO, i wanted my vehicle to peak higher. We figured since when modeled as a 6th order, it correctly predicted my 29hz peak mathematicall, we took a reverse approach, said we wanted the box to peak at 35hz, and reverse modeled the design.

So yes, its not a 6th order, but we used the math behind a 6th order design along with the acoustical properties of my vehicle to create this box. I have no idea what the box is actually tuned to, but i do have a good idea of where it will peak in my vehicle

I hope that makes sense.

i listen to alot that drops into the 20hz range.
but thats still good, i thought u were saying that it wasnt hittin the lower(30-34hz) songs
yeah it'll play that low no problem. E-40s "Poor Man Hydraulics" is retarded in my truck though, i should have gotten a vid of that.
