Project: F350 begins...
Whelp, most of the equipment is in, so its time to get motivated and get the substage back in my truck. I'm really starting to miss it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Anyways, i ripped out the substage that i had in my truck last year before i left for the summer (the setup in my sig). With the help of Canaan, i modeled the old box up as a sort of hybrid series 6th order. Well, to my surprise, the math said the box would peak at 29hz in my truck, which was EXACTLY correct.
So, that gave me the motivation to give another try at the clamshell design, this time with the characteristics of a 6th order in mind. I switched the design and tuning up a little bit, and the new design should HOPEFULLY peak somewhere in the mid to high 30's. We'll see how that goes though.
Here is the design, which is fairly similar to the old one. A little smaller, slightly wider clamshell, and slightly smaller port:
I'm really excited to get this box going. This is the first real 6th order ive tried to play with, so the results should be interesting.
And heres some pics of the equipment. I'm still waiting on a kinetik 1200, wiring, and a 1/0 crimper tool to come in the mail (sometime this week)
