So I just bought this from a guy on here,I will have to look up his name, but it worked fine for him. I got it a couple days ago and I go to hook it up today and something isnt right. Im not getting hardly anything from the amp. I had to turn the gain all the way up,bass boost all the way up just to get my sub barely moving. Now I know my wiring and RCAs,HU are good b/c I just had my JBL amp in there and it was fine. I dont have the bass knob/remote for the AQ amp,do you think thats why its not working right? I had an MB Quart amp that had to have the remote hooked up for it to work right and the Epicenter is the same way. Or do you think something is wrong with the amp itself? I dont know what it could be.

I had to rewire my sub to 1ohm b/c I was running it at 4ohms before,so thats right. Honostly this AQ sounds like a "cheap" amp like Power Acoustic or some of that flea market stuff. I know thats not how its supposed to be tho. WTF could be wrong?

I checked the sub before I hooked it up to the amp and after I hooked it up to the amp. Checked it with a DMM it read 1.2. Does it matter what two speaker inputs I use on this amp? Ive had amps like this in the past where it didnt matter which ones you used.

nope, won't matter. If you are getting almost no out put then something is incorrect some were. Maybe dropped in shipping, my 2200 was dropped(more like thrown off a cliff) in shipping at it had a few parts broke off the board.

I took the bottom cover off before I hooked it up and everything looked in place,no burnt spots or loose parts.

I just found something weird out. With the ignition off I probe the speaker inputs with a DMM and I get 1.2ohms,thats normal,I turn the ignition on amp comes on and i get -.51ohms on the DMM? WTF

DMM can't measure impedance when the amp is on and speakers hooked up.

So with the exact same setup and settings you get almost no output with the AQ but normal with your JBL during a direct-swap? You can narrow it down to the amp then. Jiggle the RCAs on the amp, try turning the gain on the amp all the way up. Try flipping the crossover switch/knob a bit because if they go bad then no volume either. Is the subwoofer output from your headunit turned ON and sub level adjusted? Make sure your amp's remote turn-on wire isn't pinched somewhere. Check to make sure the wires going to your subwoofer is wired correctly and not opposite of each other because that'll make the sub not move at all and you can burn up the coils doing that.

If all above checks out good then the amp is faulty. I had an amp that did that, turns on but no output, eventually it started smoking. Look for obvious signs of bumps on the amp, maybe it got tossed around during shipping and they broke it.

Uninstall the amp once you determined that the amp doesn't work, last thing you want is a fire in the car or a dead battery.

Do you have enough power going back to your amp? second battery? I am having this issue to with another amp but it's due to me not having a battery in the back..My battery in the front can't keep up with th power the amp is wanting to pull..

A direct swap, same settings on HU same wires,RCAs everything the same,JBL works grgeat and sounds 100x better. Itried wiggling the RCAs unplugging them and replugging them, tested the speaker wires to make sure sub is wired right Ive went over about everything. The gain and bass boost have to be all the way up on the AQ to get any sound at all,and it still sounds weak. My JBL is rated for 700@4ohm how I had it before and it sounds louder than the 1200 that the AQ should be putting out. Ive even checked the ground/power to the amp with a DMM to make sure its getting enough power and its getting a steady 13-14+ with the truck runnig.

I guess its the **** amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I have no idea.

Never heard of ANY amp having to have the gain knob or bass knob plugged in to have it working if that was the case with your old amp then there was already issues with it.
