Preamp voltage?

if the decks in question are relatively equal in options and in price go with the 5V

if they arent so equal its up to you to decide but keep in mind 5V is alot cleaner signal than 2V. cleaner is better

I could not tell the diff in my 8 volt Eclipse pre outs and my 2 volt Alpine preouts except I need to adjust my gains differently , The 8 volt actually made my amps sound worse , To much signal I think , Couldnt turn my amps down far enough , Thats what a gain adjustment is for !

I'd have to agree.. most amps (that I've seen) only want at most 6 volt.. so 8 is more than they like and the gains won't let you drop far enough to keep the system balanced.. and I'd have to immagine that too much input voltage causes clipping much earlier in the amplifying process *shrug*..

Really, is 16 volts common for inputs on amps? I really did think it was pretty low for most amps..

their right most amps dont like voltages that high jls new amps with rips have a switch for high or low voltage selection
