I just upgraded my old alpine headset to the alpine 7995. I have a Fosgate 800.2 to three jl audio 10 w6 and a kicker zr 240 to my highs. Well here is the problem! The new radio doesn't seem to be giving the woofers a strong signal. With the old headset, the woofers sounded much louder and now they barely even sound. In fact, I have to have all the subwoofer settings completely maxed out to even here them faintly. I thought it might be a problem with the amp so I uninstalled the new radio and reinstalled the old one and again the woofers sounded great. Is there anything that I am missing? Does anyone know of a setting on my new headset that may be causing this? Could my new headset be defective? Any suggestions wold be greatly appreciated...

I don't have any suggestions.. but I just put in an Alpine 7892 with a supposed 4 volt sub out.. it is quieter than the JVC I had with a 2 volt out? *sigh* I have all the bass options maxed (the boost in the HU for ~60 Hz, bass set to max, and the sub setting at max of +15.. gains are almost all the way up on the amps, much more than when the 2 volt JVC was in)..

course, it might be that the Alpine has a much longer slope than the old unit.. but with the internal amplifier being better (maybe) the rest gets louder before the pre-amp voltage gets up? My stock speakers want to start distorting at ~18 for the radio, not sure what the top is, but I have to immagine I sitll have more room to play if I wanted.. I have no real idea.... sorry..

Well, I messed with every button on the radio and even the gain on the amps. In order to get an equivalent anount of bass compared to my old radio, I had to slightly increase the gain on my amp. I am happy to say that after about an hour of messing with the different controls, my speakers sound amazing, even better than before. This radio produces some of the clearest sound I have ever heard, the highs sound crisper than before, and the base sounds so much tighter... Dont ask me what controls I changed because I basically fooled with everything until it sounded perfect. Thanks for the help to all those who replied! BTW, I would really reccomend this deck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yes the alpine deck is very very nice. i have one as you can see in my signature. it sounds like crap if you dont take the time to tweak your settings but when you do, it hangs with the best of them.
