I recently bought a kenwood eXelon x794 HU for my suv looking for better SQ. I notice that the HU has a Lot of settings for the EQ and sound processor area; DO you recommend or even if is necessary to put an additional equalizer/crossover? Suggestions...

I got a 4 channel amp for my components and sub.

i usually love kenwood HU's, just for their EQ's... but the real question is, how well are you going to be able to tune your amps to it? if you can tune your amps perfectly, with a proper o-scope... than those built in EQ's can be your best friends... but if your just trying to tune with a DMM, or, even worse, by ear... than they can make things VERY difficult.

Signal flow should be HU to DSP to amps. You would lose the ability to EQ and time align the sub with the DSP unit if you bypassed the DSP.

If you can find these in your area. Id recommend these for drop ins. They play from 40Htz on up. Sound very nice on amplified power for premium...

Honestly, beyond what you need. It will do the trick for sure, but it is excessive. Not a bad thing, just more than you will ever need. No need...
