Post your home audio setups. Here is mine.

Browse Craigs list and wait for a good set to pop up. Sometimes I see stuff on there thats a steal. Seems like everyone wants big bucks for old big cab speakers but see a lot of good deals for newer speakers at great prices. I paid 190 for my main towers , surrounds and my center channel. The MSRP on those 5 speakers was around $2000 when they were new. Just be patient and wait for a deal you cant pass up to come along.

No, but I thought bringing the tweeter down as far as I could would be best for the MMTMM design.
Maybe you should do a 2.5 way design. I don't know if I would be that comfortable bringing the Planar that low. But, I've never heard them so I don't know.

Are you running a PAD on the tweeter? How close do you think it is to it's "rated" sensitivity?

Definitely enough //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Listen to more music than anything. Crank it up while im working around the house. Who needs multizone.......I just turn up the volume //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Lots of nice systems in this thread.

Indeed. My 703 will easily fill my apartment. Come in handy when I clean.

Agree 100% As long as you are happy with what you have then all is good.
I have loved my Yamaha. Nothing really fancy or over the top, but it performs well for what I paid.
Oh indeed. Solid and sounds sweet and clean.

my friend has a yamaha he got from bb. it was only like 300 but it sounds pretty good for something that cheap.
i have always liked yamaha stuff. never disappointed me.
This is going to blow away your friends Yamaha. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

woooooot.
i just bought that yamaha receiver.

and it is perfect timing cause im getting 2 100w yamaha subs with built in amps.

any recommendations for the center front and rear lefts and rights.
Something with Duct Tape?

Good call on the Yamaha. I'm using one that was packaged in with a HTIB. Thing has more features than I even have the equipment/room placement for right now. Plus, with good, non HTIB speakers hooked up, gets loud and sounds good enough for me.
I definitely want to upgrade though. I've tasted a bit of the seperates/better than average speaker set ups and want to go balls to the wall.

And to joe and IamDeMan, are you guys slightly bi-polar? You guys rip on the kid's stuff, then say "if it sounds good to you, it's all good" Or am I missing a memo about hazing people? No offense, but you guys leave me wondering sometimes.

Well I have serveral reasons to say that.

1. It is TRUE.

2. Not everyone can afford massive speakers and expensive amplifiers, so you always have to enjoy with in your budget.

3. It is what I tell myself when I want to buy something new that I don't need. AKA the Classe CP-500 I want. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I do have a pad, but did't use it. It ended up mating very well in output with the 4 TBs. Well, I could stay at 3k and just make it a 3rd or 4th order. This is why I haven't made one yet lol. I need to speak to others with more experience using this tweeter.
