Hello!

I have been working on setting up a sound system in my dodge challenger, replacing the stock 18 speaker HK with real sounds.

My setup now is:

Audison AF M12.14 bit
JL Audio M1000/1v2
JL Audio HO112-W6v3 subwoofer (12W6v3 in High Output enclosure)
Focal ES 165 KE 6.5” midbass (front doors, 4 ohm, bridged)
Focal K2 Power 3” midrange (dash, 4 ohm)
Gladen Aerospace 28mm tweeters (on dash by A-pillars, 4 ohm)

Looking to replace door speakers and move them to the rear deck with a set of tweeters.

Proposed:

Gladen Pro 165 6.5” midbass (front doors, 3 ohm, unbridged)

Focal ES 165 KE 6.5” midbass (rear deck, 4 ohm, unbridged)
Matching Focal tweeters (rear deck, 4 ohm, unbridged)

So from all I can tell running the 3ohm unbridged @~75rms will be fine.

What are your thoughts on the setup, choice of speakers for listening to hard guitar blues, classic rock, driving music at high volume?

I like the speaker choice. I'd probably go Gladen all the way around. I like Focal, but they're a little harsh with rock at high volumes.
I already have the Focals, agreed and that's why I'm moving them to rear and putting the Gladen Pro up front in the doors. I'll keep the Focal 3" k2 mids and Gladen aerospace 28's up front too.

That should be a good front stage. I've always liked Focal midbass & midrange drivers, but their tweets can be a little difficult to work with.

Nice thing about the amp/ dsp is it's easy to set crossover and eq for each channel in the software making the system fully tunable. I am not tuning but my installer is very competent.

Results are in!

With the Gladen Pro 165 in the front doors, the Focals in the rear deck and Audison Voce tweeters in rear quarts, the stage is wide, elevated but maybe somewhat too centered.

It's definitely louder, clearer and wider as hoped. I got used to the 3-way front channels only, now having 2 more in the rear really changes the whole sound.
