1080p- in the end is more cost than it's worth, for most anyways...
HD-DVD player- at least 300$
entirely new DVD collection- ...............
TV's added cost - ~ couple of hundred dollars
LCDs- truer colors than plasmas, lighter, no burn in, more models in 1080p, less "fragile", easier to mount due to lightness, no glare
Plasmas- heavy, glass= glare, less accurate colors...
DLP- faster response times??? better for games??? (correct me if I'm wrong,) cheaper, take up more space.
Is this for your car? Or in home use???
Anyways, I say go for a nice (Toshiba, Samsung, LG(eh)) LCD TV in 1080i/ 720p....
This is for my house. Want it to look nice from far away...ie standing in the kitchen and having the tv in the living room about 15 ft away. Leaning towards lcd. Plasma is tempting though.
