pioneer HU won't play ipod.

the model should be on the faceplate. for example, mine has all the features of yours and on the faceplate it says DEH-P545.

alright i just tried removing the hu, it it will not budge. i dont have the keys to remove it either. i asume after u remove the outer trim, u slide somthing into the small slots on each of the hu?

yes, that is correct. I would head to an install shop and buy the "keys" to remove it.

i HIGHLY suggest you just go get the ipod ip-bus from Pioneer, it plugs into the back of the deck and you can use the deck to control the IPOD, plus it charges it for you, where-as the aux in with the mic jack will only play the thing and not charge or give you control externally.

Its what I have and it works great.

that stereo doesnt have a aux in unless u bought the cbr-10 thing that turns the blue plug(IP-BUS) on the back to rca jacks, or cbr100 ipod adapter which is not compatible with this old or a radio i dont beleive

has 2 amp outputs no inputs bro

yup needs to be on aux. by the way this hu is in a 2000 civic si...if that helps for removing info. and i wish i had the keys but the cars in pieces right now bc of trying to figure this out so im trying to find something else that ill fit in b/w to remove the hu.

go to circuit cit y or bestbuy and ask them to pull it out a little bit they should do it for free only takes them a second

real small,long flatheads, fillet knife get one side first and pull out a lil bit then get the other side its possible but hard with out the keys

it has the adapter to turn the blue plug into rca jacks that then go from a y back into a single aux cable. also the hu is mp3 ready so it should work.

I'm guessing that he has the IP-BUS to female stereo RCA adapter like I have (i don't know if cbr-10 is the model number, but it might be). Then a male stereo rca to 1/8" male stereo plug, which he plugs into the headphone jack on the ipod. that is what I have with my old Pioneer deh-p545.

OP, if I were you, i would get that headunit out of your dash and make sure everything is connected correctly regarding the ip-bus and ipod connections.
