pioneer HU won't play ipod.

this is what u need for it to work on that h/u and might be what casuing ur amp to bug out u are feeding asignal into the output on ur deck im pretty sure

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-CD4ZQblRG2A/popups/accessory.asp?i=130CDRB10

dont buy from crutchfield go to ebay alot cheaper there

if u have that plug already u might have a faulty plug go to radioshack etc and get a new rca to 1/8" adapter plug(STEREO) NOT MONO they are like 4 bucks

and check ur connections

i thought he had rcas plugged directly to stereo haha that would ****

it has the adapter to turn the blue plug into rca jacks that then go from a y back into a single aux cable. also the hu is mp3 ready so it should work.
mp3 ready means it plays mp3 cds, not relevant to current discussion. plugging your ipod into your ip-bus imput is sending analog audio through the ip-bus; your ipod is doing the mp3 decoding. "MP3 ready" means your headunit can decode mp3 cds.

finally got it out. ended up going to bestbuy, getting the keys which didnt help because the hu is bolted in. well i tore the dash apart and learned some more about my setup. well the aux cord i was talking about early goes to a Y with two rca jacks. they then plug into two rca jacks that go back into a single cable and then has a small plug in that plugs to the back of the hu(it is labled front output). this is why my ipod doesnt work. the previous owner just went to radio shack and installed a 2 to 1 aux cable and pluggd it in. and as stated before, the "blue" plug slot is empty...i assume this is where the ipod hook up would go? why would there be an AUX setting on the hu if it doesnt already come equipped to play it? so my question is?...what is suppose to be plugged into the two FRount Output jacks? i also have two rca jacks already plugged in to another spot of the hu which are then run back to my amp. i was hoping to find these two wire loose, which would help to explain why my amp reads current overload as soon as the radio is trned on but this wasnt the case.

I have the DEH6800MP and I had to buy a special box that connects to the HU. I got it at Best buy for like 20 bucks, and installed it for 20 bucks.

It sounds good, and charges. Ipod reconizes the HU.

So check it out.

Try getting a new Aux cable, because alot of them after awhile start getting worn out where the plug and wire meet. I had to replace mine a few times.

Most likely the AUX-IN cable is not connected properly or connected to wrong RCA's (not the input, but output). You definitely need to take the HU out and have a look. Maybe the cable is damaged itself.

i have aquick question about my head unit. its a pioneer super tunner 2(mosfet 50wX4). it is mp3 ready with the aux rca jacks in the back. when i bough the car, it was all set up and ready to play an mp3. well whenever i hook the cable up to my ipod and i go to AUX on my hu, it only plays the songs very quiet and i am not able to adjust the sound level or hear base. what could be the problem?? also to remove this hu, can you use to knives or flatheads on each side and pull? thanx.

Don't you adjust that on the iPod? But it could be a worn out aux cable though. Wouldn't hurt go go behind the HU and see what's what.
