welll.....after just under a year of intesne beating from my mtx 1501d.....2 of the tensil leads on my XXX simulataneously broke. Each (-) tensil broke on each side.... notices a small hole in the spider on one side right below the broken tensil so it's possible the i had my gain too high or just ran the beast too hard off the amp and the tensils snapped from over excursion and rubbing against the spider.....if so then why only the (-) tensils and not the (+) ones...?
either way, the plan is to order a recone kit from RE (hopefully they still have one laying around) and recone it myself. question is....how hard is it to recone one of these xxx15's? ive never econed before and i know im only gonna really have 1 shot at this so i wanna do it right. i was hoping you guys could gimme some pointers on reconing....
also....in the MEAN TIME until i talk to RE.... ibought some crimps, trimmed them down and crimped the tensils back together......unfortunitly with the amount of moving these wires are doing + the added metal on metal crimp, these wires are bound to break again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif tomarrow im gonna put her back in the box and see how long it takes before these break again....... hopefully RE can help me out..... because a recone job sending it from florida costs alltogether with shipping about $194......194 i dont have right now.....
