ahhh, another know it all who knows nothing. there is a right way to do things and a wrong way. just because someone else does it one way does not mean it is right. amplifiers are highly sensitive electrical components that are designed to do a specific function. there is not an amp in the world that was designed to take the abuse of the vibrations encountered from mounting to a sub box.

I ran 3 amplifiers plus an active cross over mounted on my sub box and NEVER had any problems with it... had the car over a year before i sold it

No it is the same size but it is attached to the cone better than the old ones. You running the sub at one ohm?
