Phers1er's build log...

Not yet... But I should have them up and running soon. I'm wanting to get them going a.s.a.p. so I have something to listen to while I'm working on the rest of the car/driving back and forth to work.

nice to see the speakers are in the hands of someone who will properly install them and enjoy them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Looking good for sure. The amp rack is sweet, always nice to see some good craftsmanship going along with some good equipment. Those "caveman brackets" most certainly aren't going anywhere the way you screwed em into the doors. Also very nice touch on the heat shrink on the speaker wire, its little things like that, that show your attention to detail on the install.

What deadener did you use on the doors? Should sound really nice in there.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I used 3 or so layers of edead. It was not my first choice but I got 120 sf. for $50 so I couldn't pass it up.

Nothing exciting, but I finished the drivers door today..

same thing 3 layers of deadening some clay and 1/2" foam on the back of the door panel.

Got one of my subs ready for recone today. here's a few pics.

First, I taped off the the top plate of the motor to avoid anything getting in the VC gap.

Then I went to town on the back of the motor. (This started out rough.kind of like FI motors).

I sanded it smooth then hit it with 400 grit before I applied the metal etching primer.

painted the motor black and sanded all 12 spokes with 120,220,320,400,600,1000,and 2000 grit sand paper.

After the 2000 grit wet sand I polished them with mothers aluminum polish and a dremel tool.

Then instead of masking the spokes I applied a very thin coat of hand soap to the polished areas and let it dry. This is so the paint will wash off those areas after the paint has dried.(see pics).

Here's pics of the finished product after a coat of wax. One down... One more to go.

And yes...they will be mounted inverted.

I'm hoping with all the work they are going to be inversely mounted or something //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They look great btw.
