Opinions on Hifonics Brutus Class D Amps?

I like mine (1606d), overrated, like everyone said (the 1606d puts out about 1200-1300rms @1), but its still decent for the moneys.

I wish I would've spent the extra $30 and got the eD NINe.1, just so I can get another and strap it later on, when I upgrade. But thats about it, runs cool btw

haven't I read that you can daisy chain a bxi 1606? and other bxis? has anyone actually done this?

i have good grounds and mine stay cool. if you run them at 1 ohms and give them a good power and ground they will hold up.

You can strap the bxi2606d only according to the owners manual. I have the Hifonics bxi1606d running a pair of RE SE10's and it kicks azz. Running One ohm and runs very cool. I run my 1206d at 1ohm and it stays totally cold. No heat at all. Seems extremely efficient, no light dimming at all on stock electrical. I set the gains @ 1000rms.

Good amps. Among the best cheap monoblocks today. A little overrated, build quality is not there, but very nicely engineered and that makes them pretty reliable.

my xx colossus took 1 ohm daily, rated at 2... stayed cold.

some of their products are nice.. some aren't.

I liked my older brutus 1500d amp just fine, done .5 for a long while but would go into protect if I pushed it hard.

anyone have experiance running the new bxi lines at .5ohm? im running mine at 1ohm and beats like a champ, but im thinkin of gettin new subs and itll be run at .5 ohm.

I have a BX1000D (1000w@1ohm), which is 3-5 years old? I don't remember... gets pretty **** hot, but probably cause I don't have it elevated off my box or anything. It went out once, but I think that was my fault. Runs pretty efficient - no light dimming at all at high volumes. After 3-4 years of still having it, that has to mean something...

1205D @ 2ohms....runs at cabin temp, gives my 12's all they can handle, then some.

the '08 Brutus amps are white, i like them vs the black ones, just buy from a dealer and get your warranty.

where do you guys need to generally have your level settings adjusted too ?

also bass EQ and subsonic/ high pass.

i have a 2600 RMS BXI and im looking for some opinions.

2 18''s in a ported box around 35-40hz.

mine ran really hot @ 1 ohm with gains under half...i didnt like it...couldnt compete with it getting too hot like that

if it got hot you have an electrical issue. i have installed hundreds and none ever got more than slightly warm unless there was a serious electrical issue.

with the hifonics MLX-100 you can strap any 2 identical mono block amps especially the brutus line. the 2600's dont require the box the rest of the brutus line does. the mlx 100 is about 80-100$
