Opinions on Hifonics Brutus Class D Amps?

Just like the Title says...
Brutus amps... Do they sound good? Are they reliable?

Do they run hot, or cool?

Any opinions would be appreciated
Which model? The older brutus (silver/aluminum) or the bxi (black) ones? I know the old ones are great. A little overrated but I've rean 3 of them and love them. Run generally cool, a little warm but they dont get egg sizzling hot like my old Tsunami did. Overall, great amps for the money

Specifically, the bxi amps ..

I have the 2006 bxi and I am very happy with it. It does what it the specs say and more.
Are you sure about that?

HiFonics' amps are notorious for being a bit optimistic on their wattage claims.

Still decent amps in regards to watts vs. dollars albeit with ratings that are a bit inaccurate.

I have the 1606d and it suits be good. It does get a bit hot but thats mainly because im always parking directly in the sun and well you know the rest...I dont know what kind of real wattage it puts out but i KNOW MY L7 GETS LOUD

Did he ask about JL? Eesh... stay away from JL. The Brutus will put out more power, , run cooler, cost a hell of a lot less, and look sexy while doing it. I was also impressed with how well it did on my stock electrical. It's more efficient than I thought it would be.

I just picked up a Brutus BXi2006D and an Alpine PDX4.150 that I'm going to flush-mount into the tailgate of my Jeep. I tested the Brutus on my poor TC-1000. It was insane. If I thought it could handle the power, I'd keep it, but I know I'd smoke it in just a short day's worth of play...heh. Now I just need to get a good 15 to feed that power to...

had a bx1605d, ran cold, loved it. bought a bx1500d, fryed it after 5 mins, dunno what went wrong, prob was just old. now have the black bxi1206d, runs cold @ 1 ohm, love it.

ive had 1 bxi1606 powering 2 15in cvr's and i hit a 145.2 with them at 1 ohm and it ran nice and cool and its a daily driver but you have to watch that you dont put the subsonic filter up too high cause you will blow the output driver up but overall i am satisfied with them and i now have another on the way best price i have found was 220 shipped off ebay new
