Opinions needed on 8s

They use a 2.5 inch dual 4 ohm copper voice coil, a copper shorting ring, 2 layer foam surround with heavy duty pressed paper cone, a large 6.5 inch spider with integrated ribbon tinsel leads, and a double 1 inch thick stacked motor with a bumped back plate and pole venting.

Here are the t/s with both coils in series no break-in.

revc 8 ohms

fs 40hz

qes .44

qms 3.58

qts .39

vas .252 ft^3

bl 22.6

sens 82.8 1w1m

The low vas means these subs can work in a very small box with good results. The WMD8 will only really shine ported and sealed enclosures are not recommended. I recommend .5 to .75 per sub tuned to 40hz.

Well the WMD 8" shouldn't even compare to the DD 1508.. Different coil sizes, magnets and frames.. Overall I like the wmd 's. I may still try to do 20 of them walled if I can

i've heard it in person. definitely way more impressive than people mention it to be. i remember everyone was talking about the sounsplinter 8's. i heard those. did not compare to the 1508's. so 1508's will always have my vote.

you guys make me laugh...why don't you get a real 8 with a 3" by 3" voice coil...and a big enough motor where you have to run the sub inverted or build the box around the sub...wait till you see mine.
