One sub hits, the other will hit rarely?

Whatttup guys, just registered but been a lurker for a while..haha sorry was meaning to register, this is a great forum. Anyways enough of that, I have 2 Swiss Audio SW15 15in Subs powered by 1200 watt Swiss Audio Amp. One sub is hitting constantly while the other will come in and out for a few seconds. What could it be? Fuse? Wiring? Could the sub be blowned out? I doubt it if keeps hitting on and off. The wires seem to be connected. A audio shop did the install for me since I'm a noob to wiring but I'm learning. I mostly know performance and engine upgrades so all you audio freaks gotta help me out on this one...should I upgrade to a thicker wire? Oh and I had this setup for over a year now..before that I blew 2 12s.

check all connections to the amp and the sub including inside the box to start

maybe for some reason your bass is playing in stereo?

i would check the wiring on the sub real quick. Maybe one of your wires isn't all the way in the terminal on your sub.

I also have a 5 farad cap too..and I checked all the wires and they look connected. I'll go check it again..

it wouldnt hurt to get rid of the cap.

the wires inside the box would be the first thing i would check. mine actually fvcked up on 1 sub in the first minute of playing them. wire just came loose from the terminal end.

should have just ran wire from amp to the sub instead of terminals for them

yea...most likely a loose connection in someway from the sub thats not hitting to the amp

fixed it guys, the wires from the amp to the sub were lose and i tightened the terminals...

ight well another question: should i go with a ported box for the 15s, cause i like the sound of the sealed box but how much clear is it when going ported?
