The W6V2 is right in your price range. I listen to strictly metal too (Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, In Flames, you get where I'm going) and I heard a W6 play and keep up perfectly with this. That's why I bought mine.

I second that and have a pair for sale. Check my sig for the link. The Q's are also probably a good choice for you.

BM's. The main reason why we came out with them was price. We needed something that sounded similar to a Mag but hit a lower price point, hence the BM's. They handle less power, but enclosure requirements are darn near identicle and they perform GREAT when ported.

I highly doubt you'd be dissapointed in any of the forum favs as listed, Q's, BM's, not sure on price but what about like a DD 2500? Type X, lots of choices.

how about a claw mag..There are a few for sale. That sub is most likely the best sounding sub ive ever heard..
