maybe.. I may have over sold size of sub but u gotta consider the $70 price., it's amazing at that price, basket is thin not super strong like sundown or ab.. if u had 2 of these in good ported box with 700-1000rms it'd would hit like 145 pretty easy (for $140)., I mean when I lower ss filter and turn bass boost up just 3db it's gonna be probably twice as loud as u would think is... i'll probably add some screws to box next month I don't trust glue they use to last forever but box is actually nice it's only like 2" off if it was 1" deep and longer be tuned to 33hz.. just wish u guys could hear it, I like sundown mostly cause they made in my state but with my power no way a E would be as loud.. I wouldn't mind getting a better amp that stays cool sometime when I find right 1 but I really don't need more than 600rms with this sub just a nicer amp I think even ppi650 be plenty but if anyone has a twisted sound 600 for $100 shipped ya'll let me know lol..

2 of those in a prefab doing 145 on 700w? Not a chance in hell. Spl isnt linear, its logarithimic. Going from 140 to 145 is a much larger gain than it sounds like.

I bet an E would still be louder, its just a better sub

gramps, what are you smoking that 700-1000 rms on 2 pioneer 70 dollar subs would get you 145 easy? have you ever used a term lab? i had 3 infinity kappa perfects 12s wired to 1.3ohms and a memphis 1000 and did 146 but i think alot of that had to do with it being a hatchback and it was a good setup for that car(was a sealed box as well) and you could really feel 146db. dont get me wrong im happy for you that you finally picked something and you seem to enjoy your purchase which is cool, i just think your numbers are a little off lol oh and one more thing dixie chicks? smh hehe

#1 I said good ported box and ok maybe off some but again I bet it'd be closer than u think., orion I had maybe 5db bass boost lower ss filter new sub not getting lower freqs no bass boost and it's just as deep and I've ran it like 8 mins when it breaks in it'll be louder.. yes it's a better sub I saw guy say he got .5db from a E over the SA my guess is cause E is more efficient (lighter) right well pioneer is light and far more efficient that the E (which is y the E came in 10th in top 10 sub list and pioneer was #1 ) could the E be louder I'm sure at least I hope so (cost twice as much) but it would need more power is what I'm saying.. just let me break it in,, i'll tell u this the fed ex guy that brought box to house is coming back tomorrow to hear sub cause he saw it on table when he brought box in..

SENECAS (CIGS).. wow that's good but like u said that was sealed (and again maybe not quite 145 but close I bet) so what would that have been ported?+6db right? probably really 150 which is amazing for 3 12's.. but ported and the pionner is so efficient 500rms is like 700-750 to some subs.. I have no way to test it cause I ain't buying another sub big box amp and paying to test it but I wish someone would just to prove me wrong and I bet u be surprised. I knew I shoulda said 140 but I think it would be higher now maybe I'm just feeling the lower bass and confusing that with spl again I ain't even turned it up yet.. as far as Dixie chicks play it sometime it's a gret sub test, my rear view mirror fell off in wifes lap like 18 yrs ago (or when ever that group started) playing them with 600rms and 3 hifonics 10's sealed.. also I've sat in a sebring with 4 orion hcca 15's at my back with a port like a foot wide (it was big anyway) and 4 hcca amps 152db (so yours was really good!) and in a smaller car with 1 dd 12 hit 145 ported I held the mic

Db bass boost is the worst reference you could ever make in regards to termlab readings. +6db does not mean +6 on a termlab. You actually will probably lose. Outside of very good amps that might gain with a very soft clip, you will lose on the meter with a distorted signal. Which is all bass boost is. That top 10 list is probanly completely irrelevant. Those are the same kind of lists that say RF p3's are louder than DD subs

It took me 2.2k clamped to break 145 in a trunk on 2 vvx 12s (more or less comparable to SAs).... 2 pioneers and 700w is flat out not gonna do it in any sort of daily build

yeah it was just for sq and effcientcy I guess y it won.. and yeah bass boost is distortion but does make it deeper and mine is off but sub is deeper than other was with it and hasn't had 30 mins to warm up yet.. the glue they used on box stinks only down side so far.. i'll get to play some tomorrow if it ***** i'll tell u.. just wish u could hear this cheap sub is all I'm saying

Its just hard to take anything you say at face value because you constantly go back and edit posts and use bass boost, not only as a function, but as a reference point, and your enthusiam for prefab boxes

I know that they are ok subs for 85$, but you are trying to put dubs on it.

dude I edit cause I ain't used to typing this much and I guess I'm not good at communicating what I'm thinking on here. + I just add stuff., like I realized long time ago I had 2 E design 12's sealed with us acoustics 600f (zed),, tested those at 136.5db and they weren't loud so with more power 2 pioneers ported would have to 140.. u should just read the 300 other reviews on the subs u see I'm not only one saying they loud. most subs ya'll like have 1-50 reviews. I want a twisted sound sub just cause it's cool (I'm sure it's built better like I say pioneer basket ain't much those e designs had a basket), I want sundown cause it's made here, u guys want these big subs cause they handle 2k don't mean other "name brand" subs ain't loud, I want pioneer cause I don't have to have 1k to make it loud which means cheaper amp all I'm saying.. and after I play it 3 hours I maybe back saying it ***** idk but I doubt it.. editing because I missed the prefab box thing,, I'm excited cause it looks ok and was cheap...

If you metered a long time ago, it was probably on an Audiocontrol... which is 4-6db lower than a Termlab

And its 50 other ppl like you saying they are good. Not exactly the greatest source. My trunk build wasnt even loud, but the average john doe with kicker comps and pioneers said it was the loudest car they ever heard. Context matters

What is this top 10 list you keep talking about? It sounds like a crap list if the Sundown E and pioneer is on it...Don't get me wrong the Sundown E is a solid budget driver, but it shouldn't be in the top 10 much less the pioneer. There's no telling where you would be metering, but it would be really surprising to me if you were even in the high 130's even with your bass boost maxed out (not a good idea to do btw). Ya... be very happy knowing that an 80$ sub makes you estatic. This hobby can get way too costly
