Alrite well to start off i have basically no back round in car audio I've had 3 different sets of subs. One set of 15's and two different sets of 12's. I recently came upon a box i couldn't turn down for the deal. Its a big solid box (weighing in at 150lbs to 200lbs) for four 12inch subs the box is all together but each chamber for each sub is seperated the port measures in on each at 12inches high and 2inches wide.. and idea what that is tuned at ? The box is 55inches wide 28inches tall and 17deep.. That's the specs if the box was aimed with the 4 12's facing you. So that comes out to 12.72cubes so I'm thinking maybe its about 2.5 cubes a piece ? any good suggestions on subs to throw in there? I've got an aq1200.. and i was thinking this box would fit rite in the back seat of my car would that sound good or not? Sorry i know there is a lot of contributing factors to making it sound good and loud but I'm just wondering some personal opinions.. all help appreciated thank you for your time

i didnt really crunch the numbers but i would assume that its less than 2.5 a piece with port and subwoofer displacement. that would be good for 4 CVXs or something on 3000 watts. idk the tuning but i would assume also that the tuning would be around 30+ hz if he was building it for music.

you gave us no port size

is it a round port? if so how long and what size? 3"x11" ??

if its a slot, how wide and how long ? 2" x 26??

if no port, then its a sealed box

sealed boxes have no tuning frequency

Yea i believe its tuned around 32.. heres sum numbers ive come up with and hopefully i can get sum pics on here in a few hours for you guys...

box width-22.5

box height-13.5

box top depth-17

box bottom depth-17

wood thickness-0.75

square port height-12

square port width-2

square port length 1-14.25 ( but i dont think this on is right if i measure the other board that is part of the port its only about 12inches)

square port length 2-11

total port length-29

square port area-24

Square port length 1 is only 12inches i believe not 14.5

i used a box calculator with these specs and the tuning was around 32.5 i believe

where are you located. im sure theres a few people like me on here that have term labs and can tell you exactly what it is currently tuned at... Depends on how much you are willing to spend as far as what subs to use

I live in Michigan. Around the Grand Rapids area..

crap i just saw that you only have 1200. you can try... kicker CVRs, older RE SRs, and many other subs that take 300ish daily
Might grab the aq2200.. but im not sure im pretty sure i can get loud on 1200 with four 12's

So you guys think if i sit this big box in my back seat ( removing seats and cushions of course) will it be louder than two 12s in my trunk seeing the 1200wrms ?
