lots of ppl use second skin audio. I got a sample from them and they gave a few sheets! put it in my truck and there is a big difference they have good prices for the GREAT quality

I'd suggest you check out http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com
Great info, great products, and owned by someone who knows and loves this stuff.

SS as suggested above will just recommend you a bunch of stuff you don't need to get more sales.

I too would suggest taking a look at SDS products. Very solid stuff from what I have seen.

Here are some other quality choice you might want to look in to:

Cascade Audio Engineering (proven to be amung the best)

Hushmat (Solid adhesive layer with 5 mil thick foil - Good stuff)

Raammat BXT II (supposed to be nice by I have not used it yet)

Stinger Road Kill (good material with thinner foil but solid performer)

There are a few others out there that are good too.

Whatever you do, make sure you look for butyl rubber based products with thicker foils (4 mils or more). All the companies I listed above are butyl.

The products that come in rolls usually have 2 mil foil or, are made of aspahlt which is toxic and has a low melting point due to the fact that the binder is not crosslinked. Bad stuff.

Hope that helps!

i got secondskin damplifier and damplifier pro, its the shit, amazing stuff made a HUGE difference, the ride is a lot quieter and the bass sounds a lot better, especially since almost all of the background rattling noises are gone from my trunk/rear deck.

Yeah ant sent me a sample and i used it 4 my truck. and even the small amount that i got made a world of the difference! Ant would damp pro be ok on the roof of my truck? lol

well I have looked at just about anything that google will pull up. I noticed that YOGA mats are coming up when i looked at the foam the closed cell stuff. is it the same stuff? also i tried calling around and trying to see what the foil is. is it basically aluminium foil??? sorry to ask these- non-Knowing questions. but the amount of money it would cost to do this is alot. i saw a pack @ auto zone and looked @ it. but would it be possible to get some sort of sample ? who did you talk to highs on bass to get that sample?

Glad you like the samples

Most of our SPL guys see an increase of 1-2 db simply by treating the rood. Damplifier and Damplifier Pro will have no problem adhering to an upside dpown surface. Graet application for the product.

Yoga mat foam is closed cell, but it is usualy treated with a urathane facing for added protection kind of like a foam pool raft.

The foil is aluminum, but much thicker and stronger than the foil you would use in your kitchen. the minimum you should look for is 4 mils. this is 4/1000 inch foil. Stronger hard foil is always better than soft foil, but it is hard to tell when each company uses unless they specify.

If you want some samples, PM me with your full name and shipping address. I'll get you taken care of

so could yoga mat be used? its treated with the urathane but would that keep the volume of road noise down? The corolla is an 86 and the exhaust is very loud. I use it to have fun with from time to time. And the car is very noisy inside the vehicle. So its about time I did something about it. It wouldn't be a bad little car to do some audio equipment in either. Also Second Skin Rep. I sent you a pm. How did the name come about?

dynamat is HIGH and you pay for the name.. Look up FatMat.. you can get 100 square foot on ebay for like 130 shipped. You could double layer your entire floor and it would be quiet

I myself prefer the SSA products. Just because I've been able to talk with ANT just about anytime I've needed him. Also his sample to me was very generous. This day and age generosity goes along way in my book.

btw sorry to thread jack is 500 shipped for a RE xxx 15 too high? its been used to test fit a box and played at most 20 min.? i'm trying to get a 1000-1200 rms @ 1 ohm and wall off the truck with 6 10's or 12's.
