I don't know, seemed like a parasitic load on the battery until you took the positive off. All I can say is check the batteries in the back again, good luck man

I skipped through some of it. It dies when you disconnect the + which would make me think that the car is running off the battery alone. Alt must not be working properly.

x2 if you took off the main power wire for the car? and it died? the alt is probably bad.

the car should still run even if the batt is completely unhooked from the car. the voltage is dropping on the batt because you keep adding to it. and the alt can not keep up with it.

x3 batt is only needed to start the car...

X3 Batt is not holding the charge better check that out ..take your ATL to autozone or kragen and have then test the alt .

your alternator's regulator is shot. It doesn't increase output voltage with RPM's.

Your car should die with the alternator and battery disconnected -- You have no power to the engine at that point.

alright, well with THAT battery... AutoZone said it seems like the voltage regulator is bad

So I came home... disconnected EVERYTHING at the battery... put in my stock battery which had a resting voltage of 12.54 with the car off, everything connected... I turn the car on and it dropped to 11.9, BUT....... it was slowly charging from there...where-as my other battery was slowly discharging.... so now that makes me think it was the wiring afterall

Here's my issue now... if the ALT is bad, I have to know WHY it went bad, and that is what the place that built it for me is going to ask...

My other question is...my Optima Blue Top is at like 12.3V right now and slowwwwwly charging... Does that sound like it is shot, and if so, does this mean my 2 batcaps in the trunk may be shot as well

Also right now the power is disconnected to the back, but I still have the ground in the trunk hooked up to the 2 batteries back there, do I need to take that off??

If its a bad voltage regulator... Nothing you could have done to cause that, nor should you need a reason. Its their product, they should figure out why it went bad.

I just know they are going to be like "ohhh the wiring, and this system pulling all that power could be to much drain on the ALT, its your fault, we're not payin for it...... somethin like that

Edit: with the car on, the voltage started to drop with this other battery I just threw in there....I turn the car off, and it starts to rise again.... strange because in the video, I showed you guys that when I take the - batt. wire OFF, the voltage goes up, when I put it on, the voltage goes down... Now its not going down with the - wire on, with the car off...its goin up.. UNTIL I start the car...

WHen the fan kicked on though in the engine...it dropped like .20 from 11.9 to 11.7ish

Toss in a stock alt if you have one.

dont have one...just got mine upgraded

Just tested my batts in the trunk.... resting at 11.86... does this mean they are shot as well, or you think they might recharge once I get the ALT fixed??

If all 3 of my Batts are shot...ohhh there's gonna be some kind of claim filed IMMEDIATELY!
