Nice set of comps for under 800

Ok I have a Ford Explorer so all that will fit is 5 1/4's. I want to have very good sound, and I dont need alot of bass b.c thats why I have subs. I'm trying to stay under 800 for one set of comps for the front and coax's for the back, each being run off an amp. I know most people say that you should just keep stock in the back but since they are blown thats not an option. Basically I've been looking at MB Quart QSC, Boston Acoustics Pro50, and Diamond Audio S500s, but I'm open to other suggestions.

IMO

Front- Crystal CSC 50S

Back- Crystal SSX 510

Or

Front - Rainbow CS 230VAN

Rear - might be able to do another set for 800.

How about Rainbow SLC's are they really as good as most say they are? More importantly are they compareable to thoose I've listed.

For $800 you could get a set of germaniums and a amp

Yeah, they're around quite a few places. I would just make them yourself though.

dremel? my past components never really fit so made them fit.

I would cut the hole out until they fit then make a ring out of mdf and screw the driver through the mdf/panel.

I haven't heard the Seas or Rainbows, but I enjoyed the K2P's over the Z6's. I would love to take the Seas or Rainbows for a test drive, but can't find a shop or person who has them here.

Can use any decent set back there. I suggested just a mid because I don't like full range rear speakers unless it is a DSP surround sound system. Too much high end pulls the image to the rear of the car as the speakers are pretty close to your ears. I would not run the speakers higher than 4-6KHz.

Crossover: AUDIO CONTROL 24xs

My guess is you will need a crossover to high pass the mids if your deck does not have it built in. This is a nice unit.

My guess is you plan to run the DIAMOND D6 amps to power these? If so that is good as they have a built in X-over that goes high enough to cover the 2-4KHz range. A D6300.4 bridged would be good for the front midsas they are 8 Ohms then, another D6300.4 to cover the tweeters and the rear mids. If you want more than two D6600.4 would be in order.

I dont know man that seams like a whole lot of work, and I wouldnt be using the D6's for my speakers b.c they are running my subs. Also this may seem like a noob thing to ask, which it probably is, but how do i know if an amp runs at 8ohms, or in the Boston Acoustics case 3ohms?
