Newbie with newbie questions... long though...

Natheo,

I will be looking into Adire stuff after I post this. Truthfully, I have never even heard of them. I'm sure they're just one of those real high end products that only people in the scene know about ya know? But nevertheless, I will go look for them on the web soon.

As for your car. With any amount of money, anything can be done to a car. A Northstar engine into your 2k Impala would be a pain in the butt though seriously. Not only is there the space limitations, but I'm nearly 100% sure the transmissions are different, along with the transaxles and numerous miscellaneous components that I can't even start to mention. Finally, especially with newer cars, it would be a nightmare to even think about integrating the electronic components from the Northstar into your Impala. The import guys really have the engine swaps figured out, they can pretty much put a B18C or whatever engine in a motor scooter! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif However, with most nearly any other car it is a daunting task. I would seriously tell you to get a different car instead of doing something insane to make a current car faster. I mean hell I could make a Geo Metro run faster than 95% of the cars out there, but it would obviously not be worth it.

As for my car, the space in there is so limited that nearly nothing will fit in there. Pretty much, the engine that is currently in there is the best engine that could be thrown in there. However, there are now turbo upgrades for the S4 that would put the car deep into the 400+HP range. But then again, such a kit like that costs excess of $10k and they are not even perfected yet... so it is not worth it to get something like that.

OK, enough babbling, time to go look at Adire stuff, 2 people have mentioned them already...

OK, I've been checking them out on Adire's site and saw that they're well priced, at $80/driver which I can live with. Couple questions about these... what are the freq ranges (about would be fine) because it would be nice if there were some lyrics from the rear fill and not just all bass, the sub would be in charge of most of that.

I believe the PPI amp I'm using is 4x40W rms, maybe 4x60? which isn't too much, but is it enough? And finally, except from adireaudio.com, where else can I purchase this stuff? Their online ordering doesn't seem to work anyway.

Thanks!

IB applications, 60w is more than plenty - don't worry about it.

The koda's are very dynamic, they are near flatline up to 5khz with no breakup modes, so yes - you can stretch them nearly as far as you'd like in terms of upper frequency range.
