Newbie Upgrade Questions

Right now I've got a single 10" sub powered by a small 2 channel amp. I wanted to upgrade the front door speakers and was wondering if it would be better to buy a mono amp, move that to the sub and use the 2 channel for the speakers or get a 4 channel amp and bridge the rear channels to the sub? Are there any issues bridging a 4 channel amp?

I would rather have one larger amp than two smaller ones for install reasons. I prefer sq over spl and do not need to get too loud.

Also, I have 8 ga power wire right now. If I were to pick up this amp

would I need to upgrade to 4 ga?

Thanks for any advise.

Shouldn't have any problems bridging the 4 channel amp.

8 gauge will work for the amp. However, if you are going to tear the car down for an install, it might not be a bad idea to upgrade the power wire to a larger size just to get the flexibility to expand your system later on.

you need to list what speakers you are running and what's the specs for your sub.

You could bridge the sub, and get 300w from those 2 channels, and get some good comps, and run about 150w X 2 channels to those. You need to list more info on your current setup.
