need some wiring help

i want to get two amps to run my 2 12" sony xplod subs. I have one sony xplod 1200W max 500W rms. I have 4 guage wiring to that amp but if i get two can i split it into two 8 guage wires and run the 8 guage to the amps?

Get one amp, and keep it simple. Look for an amp that does 1K w per whateva ohm load you are looking for.

FYI: Never list that max wattage, as that is something that you will never see. Only shows your noobish when it comes to Caraudio.
