Newbie system ~$600

What's up fellas...just found this site so figured I'd register and try to learn what I could. Been wanting to get a system for my 1999 Grand Prix since I got it mid summer but financial issues have held me back.....I finally got the money saved up and was wondering what I should go with for around $600 dollars. i.e. What are your favorite sub (and size), what amp, etc. I know I want to go with 2 sub's but I dont really feel that going to a place like circuit city or best buy is going to be the best option. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

My first little bit of advice is the following:

- It's hard to resist going out and buy car audio stuff, but if you save up you can have a real nice stereo in your car.

- Since your on a budget look at subwoofers like Adire Shiva, Elemental K's, and maybe Kicker Comp VR's

- For amps I suggest looking into JBL, and US Acoustics.
