I am a newbie at fiberglass and i would like to customize my whole trunk eventually, but i wish to start slow by the door panels so do you thing i would practice with fiberglass first.. for example give the door panels a try and see how they turn out before going serious with it? IF NOT what would be the best way to go about this???

it would probably be best to do a quick practice job before you get into anything really serious, fiberglass is a strange substance to work with, you have to get the feel of it ya know

Make a test panel that has a few bends and curves so you get the feel on how fiberglass is laid. Hell, tape off your kickpanel and make a test piece.

Then you will understand it takes time and finesse. Dont rush it, and you'll be fine.

start out fiberglassing flat pieces onto a piece of mdf, until you get the mixture down, last thing you want is a really hot batch on your doors, or a really cold batchthat never dries

ok well thanks for the help, i will read some other posts and see what i can learn out of them and then maybe give it a try. The only experience i have with fiberglass is patching up the bottom of my brothers sailboat, but thats easy considering its a flat surface. I think i will look into it somemore to find out some techniques and tricks. If you have any other help that would be great
