Newbie question

I am very new to the whole car audio scene, so please forgive my ignorance. Alright, I just bought a kicker kx400 amp which has a 2 ohm impedance. My question is would it be safe to use with a kicker comp vr 12" dual 2 ohm sub? Any help is greatly appreciated.

well, youd have to wire it down to one ohm and u said it isn't 1 ohm stable, so 4 ohms or another sub is the only way to go.

i'd personally get another sub in series/parallel as that'll give each of the subs the same power as the one sub in series.

FYI, saying your amp has a 2 ohm impedance does not make sense. Impedance is a form of resistance which an amp does not posess, it subs that do. You meant to say, "My amp is stable down to 2 ohms"

Here is another question, since I can't wire it to 1 ohm how would I go about wiring the sub to 4 ohms. Again, I'm sorry to be asking all these stupid questions, but I would rather ask now than ruin my equipment and ask why it happened.
