Newbie on board

Aight guys, I got my hands on a 1981 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham that soundz will be a major part of. I have a few newbie questions though.

1. What do the terms SQ and SPL mean?

2. Can someone please explain ohms to me?

3. Any suggestions for the Daddylac?

If these are too basic, please can someone refer me to a source where I can learn these things?

well let me answer all your quesitons.....

sp = sound quality

spl = sount pressure level (basicly super bass...little sound quality)

sqpl = mix of both above

ohms are a measure of resistence that amps are rated at.....like how much pressure is going through a garden hose......the lower the ohm level the more "pressure" most amps are stable down to either 4 or 2 ohms mono .....there are some that are stable down to 1 ohm....subs are rated in ohms....you can lower and ohm rating that an amp see's by wiring a sub in different ways...there are 2 types of subs...dvc and svc

dvc = dual voice coil (2 pos and 2 negs on the sub)

svc = single voice coil(has one pos and neg)

not sure bout daddylac....not sure what yo umean....but check my the links on my sig.....good info for starters...good luck

well since he covered eveything but suggesstions, I figured id throw mine in, its pretty simple...
