Newbie Looking for guidence

I have a SPL XL2-120 amp and want to replace my 4x6 dash speakers in a 94 Wrangler.

My main question is about what power level of speakers to get? I have read items about RMS, max out put, etc and all the different numbers can be somewhat confusing.

Go with rms ratings for the speakers. They should match the amp. If anything the amp should have just a bit over rated of the speakers. But not by much

Thanks for the info! With that in mind I could get something similar to this:

Amazon.com: Blaupunkt Overdrive Series ODx462 4"x6" 2-way car speakers For standard and metric 4"x6" openings: Car Electronics

and it should do well.

They would work but canon fiber cones and only 40 watts rms I'd say they aren't very good These are more for a non amped system
