ok so complete newbie here just getting into the whole car audio system thing just wanted some tips for buying things and how much money do you need do get a decent system also where should a spend most of my money? i think a deck or head unit or what ever is not needed as it doesnt count for sound but i should spend more on amps and subs then maybe speakers? any advice would be greatly appreciated

is enternet (here) way cheeper than best buy or other stores where they do installing for you for free? my dad knows his stuff and can install things somewhat and it is really expensive to have professional help install

just do ur home work and know what ur getting for ur money and u should be good but i dought any store will be cheaper then inter net unless liquadation

This is the order i went in, as an example:

1. Head Unit

2. Some decent speakers (coax or component, your choice, depending on budget)

3. Amp(s) - If running components, amp for them, as well as amp for sub(s)

4. Subwoofer(s)

5. Enclosure

Once you get into it, you will find the need at some point to upgrade electrical, be it Big 3, alternator, battery (or batteries), sound deadening, etc.

Do some searching around here, and you will get a feel for what i mean. Good luck!

for 2000 u can get a bangin beat off here. Decent u can do 1000. Probably less.

not for my taste just remmeber this buy the best u can buy dont try to do it all in one shot, instede of buying a cheep headunit and some cheap coax and cheap subs along with amp and 4 gauge wire insted buy a fat *** head unit with all the capabilities to build the system of ur dreams and then go to comps and then get ready for the most expensive part amps buy a realy good amp for ur comps after that do the 1 sub and 1 amp and wire go 0 gauge then when u want another u just spend anothe 1000 for the other sub and amp ull be happy and the envy of ur town for sure clean and loud. so inreality it cost like 3000 dollars for a good system ull be clowning on foosssss thats guarenteed

i dont have that kind of money so i was thinkin skippin the head unit and just getting a amp lets 500 or so watts then getting whatever subs to handle that and call it good
