newbie-(4x) 6 1/2 suggestions !

Hi, im new to this forum. I have a 1998 Nissan 240sx, and I've done some mods to the outside, but lately I've been feeling the audio inside the car is pretty ****ty. After riding in several friends newer cars, their stock systems sound so much better.

Heres what I got 2 front door 6 1/2 oversized or 6 3/4 and in the rear behind the passengers, same thing, 6 1/2 or 6 3/4.

So I need some suggestions for speakers/amp possibly here is what i'd like as far as requirements:

-No Sub

-Speakers with a little more base or enough knock so I dont' need a sub (im not talking about a lotta knock, Im talking about way less)

-Would I want components? because I've only got 4 speakrers?

-I want something that sounds pretty decent when turned but, but no need for high high end stuff.

-Can you suggest amps to go with them? preferbly smallest/less weight is best.

-I have a alpine deck, i believe its 50x4 but if i had an amp...it would take care of it ?

first, whats your budget?

if you wanna go cheap (~$150), just switch out all 4 speakers with coaxials.

if you want to spend a but more (~$350), go with 1 set of components, and a set of coaxials in the rear would be fine. get a 2 channel amp for the components.

i would recommend getting 2 sets of components and a 4 channel amp. this will cost you though. i would recommend:

$320 ($160 for a set) 2 sets Diamond Audio M661

$300 JL Audio 300/4 amp

if you want something a bit better, get Diamond Audio HEX S600. they run about $270-$300 a pair.

theres alot of other great brands out there, but im a little biased because i use DA and JL.

if your going to run your speakers off the HU, just get a pair of coaxials (~$50). if you get components, you need an amp to run them, or else theyll sound like crap running off your HU. if your on a budget, jsut get a nice set of components up front running off a 2 channel amp and get a set of coaxials for the rear and run them off the HU.

i didnt say i didnt know what i was talking about. i just have lot of questions about wiring. im just giving advice based off my experiances, whats wrong with that? if your so high and mighty, why dont you give some advice?

well i have 2 sets of components. the rears are lower end models and are less powerful (75w compared to 150w up front). i once had a set of 3way coaxials in the back, the componets sounded much better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

How would you know? From the front seat you shouldn't be able to hear them anyways //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

speeddreamz, need to know your budget //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i CAN hear the rear speakers from the front seat. they "fill" in the sound in the back. i turned the rears off once, and overall, it sounded like something was missing. the sound wasnt as rich as it used to be, it was lacking. IMO, having rear speakers makes my system sound better.
