First I want to say hi to everyone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

this is my KENWOOD EXCELON //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif setup

All wires are JL AUDIO

H/U KVT-614

component speakers KFC-X1300P (up front only my cx didn't come with rear speakers)

AMP to power the components KAC-X522

SUB KFC-XW1300DVC ( kenwood's biggest&baddest //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

AMP to power sub KAC-X812D

KINETIK HC800 in the trunk with the stock battery in the engine bay

car fully covered in DYNAMAT EXTREME

question is how do I turn it to get the most out of my subwoofer/ can I do it on my own or should I pay a shop? also this is my first system that I planned out, what do you guys/gals think.

Its pretty loud but I know I can get her louder with a right turn //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks

Ya how do i tune it, what hz(if that what you call it lol) etc Im a noob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif please forgive me I don't know much about car audio

its only the 1 KFC XW1300DVC and I had a custom ported box made to spec from the kenwood website.

I just want to know how to make my music really come alive. I tried playing around with the amp setting but I dont want to break something? lol

I paid to get everything installed and when I got my car back it was really loud but I notice they didn't touch any of the knobs on the amps?

everything in the H/U was on normal. its been about a month and I just want my 5h1t to sound the way I know it can when its tuned right

if your worried about screwing some thing up take it to a shop with a good rep and have them tune it,,,but make sure you sit in the car with the guy or you'll end up with a system he thinks sounds good which may or may not be what you do.

(sorry about sentence structure and spelling)

well this is what I know or think I do lol to tune a system turn up H/U to 2/3rds of its full volume, turn all the options/knob on all amps off, then turn up the gain until you hear distortion and back it off just a bit, that should be your max,

I'd rather do it myself cause I know if I'm told the right way I can do it, seeing as I swapped an engine in my civic just me and a buddy....no help first time thanks Google true story

if the sub is not loud enough for you, try going up with the gain a little at a time until it sounds good, or until you hear something bad, distortion, bottoming out, etc.

if it does not get loud enough before distortion, bottoming out, etc. u need a 2nd sub, or a better sub.
