Heres my new type x 12 in a prefab (i know... i know.....) slotted vent box. Sexy SQ machine!

Im probably gonna build a box with about 3 cubes tuned to about 32hz. Dont know what kind of vent though... thinkin slotted like this, with the sub facing the glass, and the port facing the back seat. Tryin to squeeze just a lil bit more midbass out of it though, doesnt quite blend with frontstage. Excellent SQ for a 12 in a ported box though

my buddies is in 1.75 cubes net @ 30 or 32 gets low as fok. 3 cubes would be pretty big imo.

lols... yeah the box isnt small, just has a small front baffle... its deep as fok... put it to you this way, when i shut the hatch, the bottom on the hatch catches the corner of the box... wont fit very well facing front or back, with my amp where it is, until i can make a rack for it. The sticker with specs inside the box said its 2.4cubes after port displacement, tuned to 36hz.... oh and the whole sub/box setup weighs a ton... i wouldnt have expected the x to weigh so much...

mine are badass....i think its kinda funny that in a matter of days like 4 different people got type x's on this forum....they are great subs that are overlooked

yes... yes they are... But i think the problem with my sub is 1) havent re-adjusted amp 2) boxes are better when they are built to the sub 3) your frontstage and rearfill are in working order and 4) the X is getting enough power (which i dont hitnk mine is)...

I need to fiberglass myself some baffles for my frontstage... the rear of the speaker is open to the inside of the door, and it makes the ho rattle like hell... and the MDF i used for the speaker mount is too thick so when the bass drops, the surround vibrates the door panel.... ive got some work to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

And actually, it was just shipped to me a couple days ago. Picked up the box and just about sropped it... i wasnt expecting it to weigh a ton! Im thinkin about putting it in a sealed box, now that i know its loud as fock on my amp! Its in a hatch, so it doesnt need to be 2000000dB's

1.75 is way to small id stay more in the 2's, and tune to 30-32, what does his box size have to do w/ his xover freq?
